I hope everyone has a great Fourth of July weekend. I will be marching in the parade on Monday. As I’m walking behind the car chatting with folks, be sure to say hi.
Tuesday, we are having an important set of committee meetings, where we will discuss, among other things, the JEDZ agreement with Cuyahoga Falls and Hudson. The following link provides the full slate of topics for the 5:30 p.m. meetings: Planning-7-6-10.
In other news … City officials, me included, are meeting with potential law firms to negotiate with our unions. For obvious reasons, I’m not going to disclose anything specific about union negotiations.
My concern as a councilperson is the scope of representation. If the firm handles everything, and the negotiations are protracted, we could be looking at a very steep bill. On the other hand, it’s good to have professionals take some of the burden off John Earle and Mike Miller, who have other full-time jobs to work.
